Assistant Principal
I am gracious to have the opportunity to serve the students and families of Hollywood Elementary School. I grew up in Saluda and graduated from Saluda High School in 1989. While at SHS, I was a member of the first class of Teacher Cadets under Dr. Bela Herlong. She taught me that without educators, there would be no doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. After completing the program, I decided to pursue a career in education.
I graduated from Lander University in 1994 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education. I received my Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in 2001 and Master of Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2008. I taught at the middle and high school levels before serving as an instructional coach in Lexington District 4. I began my career as a school administrator in Lexington District Three before returning to Saluda in 2013.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and clearance shopping at outlet malls. I volunteer as a co-leader of Girl Scout Troop #3326 in Saluda in order to empower young girls to reach their full potential.
I am a strong believer that with education and effort we are afforded choices in life. I believe that all children can be successful with the support of caring adults. I am very excited to work with the students, teachers, and parents of HES! Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance
